Maine Wildlife Park Needs Your Help Naming Its New Adorable Bobcat
If you have been looking for a fun reason to get outside, this might be it. A brand new bobcat at the Maine Wildlife Park needs a name, and visitors are being asked to help decide.
The park in Gray has set up a simple voting system where guests can cast a ballot in person. There are three name options to choose from, and all of them feel very Maine inspired. You can vote for Moxie, Juniper, or Acadia.
There is one important detail. You cannot vote online. If you want to take part, you have to visit the park and drop your ballot into the box located inside the Nature Store. It is a throwback way to vote, but it makes the experience a little more fun.
Visitors have until Wednesday to make their choice, so there is a limited window to take part in naming the new feline.
Even if you are not too concerned about what the bobcat ends up being called, the park is worth the trip. It is home to about 30 species of native Maine wildlife. There are also walking trails, gardens, picnic areas, a museum, and a visitor center to explore.
The park is open seven days a week from 9:30 in the morning until 4:30 in the afternoon, and guests are welcome to stay on the grounds until 6.
