‘I would like to take this opportunity to express my deep appreciation to all of you who work with dedication for the citizens of Maine,’ LePage said.

Though only Tuesday, Dec. 25 is an actual paid State holiday, Governor’s authorization for additional time off will give state employees more time to spend with their families, especially the ones who are traveling to visit relatives and friends.

State offices will open on December 26, but will close again on Jan. 1 to observe New Year’s Day.

‘I hope you will have a happy and safe holiday with family and friends and extend my best wishes for the coming New Year,’ LePage said.
