Gas Prices Still on the Rise in New England

The thermometer may be on the rise with the advent of spring, but so are gas prices across New England.

That's according to GasBuddy.com's latest survey.

Prices here in the Pine Tree State rose this past week almost 2 cents a gallon, to an average of $2.83 a gallon. Prices at the pump at most stations in the Star City were at $2.91 a gallon as of Monday morning.

Across the border in New Hampshire, gas was a little cheaper, checking in at an average $2.76 a gallon. That's up a penny from last week. And prices in Vermont were a little higher than that, an average $2.79 a gallon, up just under a penny from last week.

Meanwhile, the national average price of gas went up to an average of $2.89 a gallon. That's a rise of 1.3 cents over last week. It's also 14.3 cents a gallon higher than a month ago and 9.1 cents higher than last year at this time.
