Fun Holiday Events Around our Area This Month

There’s always plenty to do around our area this time of year. Here are some things you and your family can get out and enjoy together. Here are a few events and festivities that are happening in our area this month to gear up for the Holidays.

Fort Kent’s Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony will be held Saturday, November 24^th. Santa’s Elves will be handing out hot cocoa and coffee while awaiting the arrival of Santa. The tree lighting will take place at 6:30pm.

Houlton’s 2012 Holiday Light Parade will begin at 6:00pm on Saturday, November 24th. This Year's Theme is "A STORYBOOK CHRISTMAS". The parade will start at the parking lot of Andy's IGA at 132 North Street, and will proceed down North Street and across the bridge, and then turn left into Market Square. It will proceed up Main Street to the Gentile Memorial Building parking lot at 128 Main Street.

Limestone's 2012 Holiday Festivities  - Saturday, November 24, 2012 Holiday Tree Lighting and Carolling, 5:30pm. Located at the American Legion. Holiday Light Parade at 6:00pm! This year's theme: "Santa's Workshop." Join the annual light parade. Watch, enter a float or vehicle, or dress yourself up. Add your favorite holiday song, and bring some friends!  (5:15pm line-up at the school; judging at 5:30pm) SNOW EXPRESS: Hop on the bus right after the parade! When we arrive at the Recreation Department, you can meet and get a FREE photo with Santa and Mrs. Claus!

Join the town of Florenceville-Bristol, NB in kicking off the Christmas Season with the Town’s Annual Tree Lighting on Thursday, November 29^th at Riverside Park at 6:30pm. The event will involve entertainment, cookies, hot chocolate, cider and a visit from Santa. Enjoy the festive lights throughout the Town and other great holiday activities.

It’s always fun to get out and attend these events with the family. Last year my husband and I took our daughter, then a year and a half old, to a holiday light parade. It was the best thing since sliced bread! I’m looking forward to doing the same this year! What events will you be attending?
