Frank Ocean Issues Stern Warning to President Trump in Open Letter: ‘Don’t Cook the Books’
It’s official. Donald Trump is the 45th President of the United States. The billionaire was sworn into the office on Friday (Jan. 20) in a four-hour inauguration ceremony. At the same time, several rappers and singers bid farewell to the outgoing President Barack Obama. R&B singer Frank Ocean shared his thoughts on the inauguration in an open letter on his official website.
In his open letter, Ocean wasn’t impress with the celebration and he also issued a stern warning to President Trump to do right by the American people. He wrote:
Don’t cook the books either Donald. We all know your event was dry. No matter how many times CNN anchors repeat majestic or peaceful transition of power. The world can see America divided and the chaos in the streets. Barack we love you but it would’ve been equally presidential if you would’ve just walked on out while Donald got through that struggle speech trashing your career. The majority knows man, we know you did good. We see it. The majority sees Donald for who he is too. He ain’t slick. And it’s too bad the majority doesn’t count. In any event, a first family that I can relate to will be missed. Really though.”
Meanwhile, Rihanna, Kendrick Lamar and others went on social media to said goodbye to former President and First Lady Barack and Michelle Obama.
