Jessica Savage of Winslow was sentenced Tuesday in Kennebec County Superior Court to serve nine months of a five-year prison term, after pleading guilty to breaking into a Dunkin' Donuts and stealing $150.

Prosecutors say last April, Savage smashed a window, jumped over a counter and passed a cash box out the window. But she lost one of her flip-flops in her getaway and prosecutors say DNA from the sandal linked her to the crime.  The burglary was also captured on the store’s security cameras.

Savage was already in jail for breaking in to State Representative Thomas Longstaff’s home and stealing a laptop computer a week after the doughnut shop burglary. Longstaff’s wife, Cindy, called 911 and chased Savage down and retrieved the laptop.  Waterville police nabbed Savage a short time later.

Investigators said the woman had left behind a sweatshirt and a backpack in that break-in.
