This month Hand Me Down Antiques presents George and Friends Fiddlers for night of fun filled music. Light refreshments will be served.

Star City Coffee - 483 Main Street - (207) 554-4222
Star City Coffee presents artist Rowena Forbes. Rowena is a recent BFA graduate from the University of Maine at Presque Isle and she is proud to present work from her BFA senior exhibition Inner Necessity. Rowena Forbes has been a graphic designer for 15 years, is the director of Wintergreen Arts Center. She lives with her husband and daughter in Castle Hill, Maine.

The Mark & Emily Turner Memorial Library - 39 Second Street - (207)764-2571
The Mark & Emily Turner Memorial Library will showcase their newly renovated library for the First Friday Art Walk. Visitors are encouraged to view the architectural enhancements throughout out the library, as well as the newly rehomed paintings by artist Richard Ellery. The collection consists of three paintings symbolizing part of the Aroostook potato farming story. They were commissioned in 1947 by the Northern National Bank and were part of the Works Progress Administration (W.P.A), which sought to employ the unemployed.

The University of Maine at Presque Isle’s Reed Fine Art Gallery is proud to present the group exhibition “BFA14”. This collection of artwork features this year’s University of Maine at Presque Isle’s Bachelor of Fine Arts students – Mirandah Akeley, Matt Austin, Kati Christoffel, Rowena Forbes and Ryan Van Buskirk. The exhibit will run from July 4 to August 17, and is free and open to the public. It is open for the First Friday Art Walk on July 11, 2014 from 5 to 7 p.m. and light refreshments will be served. Wintergreen is honored to announce that they will be showcasing artwork from Sea Glass Jewelry by Terry Carmichael Kilcollins. Terry took her first trip to Eastport, Maine in August 2012. Since that initial introduction to sea glass Terry has been to Boston, Lubec and Eastport, Maine to pick sea glass. She also trades sea glass with friends from Puerto Rico and Portland, Maine and has had friends give her sea glass from Hawaii and PEI to create her unique artworks.

The Whole Potato Cafe and Commons presents “We Can Only Make One Decision: a drawing exhibition by Heather Sincavage”. The exhibit features a survey of drawings done during Heather’s three artist residencies in Finland, Spain and Iceland, as well as new drawings completed here in Presque Isle. The drawings are process oriented and an analysis on the “Self”. They embrace the acceptance of errors, indecision and an accumulation of experiences that make us who we are. Ms. Sincavage is an Assistant Professor of Fine Art at the University of Maine at Presque Isle and Director of the Reed Art Gallery. For more information, please see Sincavage’s website.
