Fatal Accident on Washburn Road in Presque Isle

The Presque Isle Police Department says one person was killed early Saturday morning in a single-car rollover on the Washburn Road.

Presque Isle Police, Fire and Ambulance responded to the 911 call around 3:50 a.m. and found a 2003 Hyundai rolled over against a tree, according to a news release from Police Chief Matt Irwin.

The driver and sole occupant was extricated from the car and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Presque Isle PD said the identity of the victim is not being released at this time pending notification of next of kin.

The crash remains under investigation. We’ll have more information as it becomes available.
