You can bring any unused, unwanted, or expired prescription drugs to police departments across Aroostook County and they will be disposed of safely.

Medications can be dropped off between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Saturday.

This is the seventh time in recent years that Maine law enforcement has taken part in the effort, coordinated by the US Drug Enforcement Administration. Last April, 22,260 pounds of unwanted drugs were collected in Maine.

You can drop off your unwanted medications at police departments in Ashland, Caribou, Fort Kent, Fort Fairfield, Houlton, Limestone, Presque Isle and Van Buren, as well as the Maine State Police Troop F in Houlton.
