Drake Maye’s Wife Joins Barstool’s Dave Portnoy for Massachusetts Pizza Review With Big Scores

We're only partway through January 2026, and Dave Portnoy has already delivered new reviews for multiple Massachusetts pizza spots.

One particular review stands out because the Barstool Sports owner was joined by the wife of New England Patriots quarterback Drake Maye, Ann Michael Maye, at Gianni's Deli and Pizza.

Not only do the two of them give some big scores for the Needham pizza spot, but the owner's adorable interaction with Portnoy and Maye made for a delightful video to watch.

Portnoy's first special guest of the year was Ann Michael Maye, who, yes, is the wife of QB Drake Maye, but has also become a social media standout because of her baking.

She has even recently garnered her own show on NBC Sports Boston, called "Beyond Bakemas," a spin-off of her "Bakemas" social media series. Her first guest? Portnoy.

It feels fitting, then, that she joins him on his One Bite Pizza Review series.

Both Portnoy and Maye seem in great spirits as they walk out with their large pizza to try from Gianni's Deli and Pizza in Needham, Massachusetts.

It's a pretty quick review, too, but with some big scores and both remarking it is "pretty good" pizza.

Maye scored it an 8.1, while Portnoy gave it a 7.7.

But the video takes a super cute turn when the owner, who had no clue who Portnoy or even Maye were, gets the heads up that his reviewing the spot is a big deal. She expresses sincere thanks and gratitude, even inviting them back into the place for drinks, sharing her story about the family recipe and the business, and whipping up some chicken parm for them.

Well, it looks like business has ramped up after the review because, according to Yahoo, people are flocking to Gianni's.

The owner told Yahoo, "We’re slammed. Two days after he posted the video Thursday night at 7:30 … After that, the phone never ends."
