Credit union leaders from around Maine were recognized in various categories for their outstanding service.

Some 700 people gathered at the Maine Credit Union League’s Annual Meeting and Convention held at Holiday Inn by the Bay.

One of those honored was Dan Bagley of The County Federal Credit Union. Dan received the Diane L. Oceretko "People Helping People" award. Dan's boss, Ryan Ellsworth, President and CEO of The County Federal Credit Union, said Bagley was more than deserving of the award. “Dan’s contagious efforts in promoting the Souper Bowl Challenge to the Aroostook Chapter of Credit Unions and to the staff, as well as his endless support of our other ‘People Helping People’ endeavors such as United Way, the Financial Fitness Fair, Ending Hunger in Maine and Special Olympics, made him an easy choice for consideration of this award,”

Bagley stated he was extremely surprised and honored to receive the tribute. “This award is reflective of the national credit union mission of 'People Helping People' and that spirit and mission is alive and well among all of us here at ‘The County’. "

The award is presented to an individual from the Maine CU Movement who is active in community-service, volunteering and goes above and beyond to help others in need.
