Could Cow-Cuddling Be A New Therapeutic Trend In Maine?
Doctors and therapists have all sorts of ideas on how we can reduce stress in our lives. Some methods are more conventional and others? Well, not so much.
CBS Philly has a report out about a new and unconventional health trend that seems to be taking off around the country which is called Cow-Cuddling.
Some might think that this is an udder-ly ridiculous idea and are refusing to join this silly mooove-ment. However, there are those that swear it helps them.
If you're ever traveling to upstate New York, and you're really stressed out, you may want to take a detour to Mountain Horse Farms.
They offer a 60-minute cow-cuddling experience for just $75!
Customers are also allowed to partake in what is called the full Cow And Horse Experience, which allows them to brush, pet, and play with cows and horses.
The total cost of a 90-minute session is just $300.
According to their website, Mountain Horse Farm states that cows have body temperatures that are a little higher than humans and their heart rate is lower than humans.
The site claims that,
"Cuddling up with a cow, feeling that lower heart rate and higher body temperature is very relaxing."
The way the therapy works is the animal can pick up on what's happening inside of you and they can sense whether or not you are relaxed, anxious, sad, or happy and they will respond "without judgment, agenda, or ego.
Does this sound like a great idea? This could be the next therapeutic coming to an animal farm near you. Just be sure to check with your doctor first!
