A taxi driver was robbed at knife point over the long holiday weekend.

According to the Caribou Police Department, at around 10:20 PM on Sunday, August 31st, the police department received a call from a Caribou taxi driver reporting that he had just been robbed at knife point by an unknown male dressed in dark clothing on Hammond Street.

The thief made off with an undisclosed amount of cash and checks, and then fled the scene.

After searching for the male through most of their shift, Caribou Police Officers Chad Cochran and Corey Saucier received information that the 17-year-old male was at a nearby residence on Prospect Street.

The male was apprehended without incident and transported to the Aroostook County Jail in Houlton, charged with class A Robbery.

Assisting Officers Cochran and Saucier was Officer Ouellette of the Caribou Police Department as well as Officer Dale Keegan of the Fort Fairfield Police Department.
