Shortly after 5 p.m. Wednesday, the Caribou Police Department received a 911 call from a resident on the Ogren Road reporting someone had broken into his house and he had the suspect there with him. As officers arrived on the scene, they observed a man running from the house with the homeowner in pursuit.

Caribou Police say the subject ran into the woods and when the officers hollered to him, he stopped and returned to them. He was identified as 25-year-old Codie Robbins of Caribou, according to a news release from Caribou PD.

Officers spoke with the homeowner and learned that Robbins had forced his way into the residence and took numerous items. When the homeowner confronted the suspect and told him the police were going to be called, Robbins allegedly used physical force against him in an attempt to get away.

Police say all the property was recovered.

Robbins was charged with Robbery, Burglary, Assault, Theft, Criminal Mischief and Violating Conditions of Release. He is currently being held in lieu of $10,000 cash/$20,000 surety bail and has a court date of November 2.

The case was investigated by Officer Kevin St. Peter and assisted by Officer Douglas Bell of the Caribou Police Department.
