The Caribou City Council has announced the hiring of a new City Manager, who will be moving to the area soon with his family.

Dennis Marker, who has served as Assistant City Manager in Santaquin, Utah will become Caribou's City Manager on July 3rd. The 40-year-old Utah native has experience in economic development, events coordination, human resources, code enforcement and planning.

He will fill the post left open after former City manager Austin Bleess resigned in March to take a similar position in Texas. Caribou Police Chief Michael Gahagan has been filling the post of City manager in the interim.

In a press release Tuesday, the city noted that Marker’s personal interests include spending time with his family, sports, outdoor activities, sketching and composing piano music. He says he looks forward to this new adventure.

The City of Caribou will welcome Dennis, his wife AnaLee and their five children with a meet-and-greet sometime early this summer.
