A 26-year-old Bathurst man, wanted in New Brunswick for armed robbery, has been apprehended in Prince George, British Columbia. Prince George RCMP took Ronald Albert Canuel into custody at approximately 4 p.m. on Friday.  RCMP say Canuel was arrested without incident.

Shortly after 11:00 a.m. on July 10, a man entered the Caisse Populaire Restigouche on Roseberry Street in Campbellton armed with a gun and demanded money from an employee, RCMP say. The suspect fled with an undisclosed amount of cash in a grey or silver car.

Three charges were laid against 26-year-old Ronald Albert Canuel  on Tuesday in Caraquet Provincial Court, including robbery with a firearm, wearing a mask in the commission of an offence and failure to comply with a firearm prohibition order. A Canada-wide warrant was issued for his arrest.

Canuel is considered armed and dangerous. It is believed he may be en route to British Columbia. The public is advised not to approach him and to contact police immediately by calling 911.
