Bs Call-Up McAvoy For Playoffs

The Boston Bruins have agreed to a three-year entry level NHL deal with first round draft pick Charlie McAvoy on Monday morning, according to General Manager Don Sweeney.

The Bs signed McAvoy in advance of the first round playoff series and the defenseman will suit up for the team in the squad's scheduled practice at Warrior Ice Arena Monday. The deal will begin with the first year being charged to the 2016-17 season. The draftee was selected in the first round last year by the Bruins.

The defensive player may be tasked with filling in for injured Torey Krug, whose status is still up in the air for the first round playoff series with the Ottawa Senators that begins on Wednesday. Brandon Carlo and Noel Accari will both miss the contest on Wednesday. McAvoy was a first team selection from the Boston University Terriers in the Hockey East conference and was a member of the USA National Developmental team from 2013-15.

The first round match-up for the Bs versus the Senators will see game one on Wednesday night, with the second contest coming Saturday afternoon, and the third one coming on Monday night from the TD Garden.
