Remembering Bob Weir: A Look at his Incredible Touring History in Maine
The rock world has sadly lost another legend, and this is a big one.
Bob Weir, the co-founder of one of the most iconic bands ever, the Grateful Dead, has passed away from complications due to his battle with cancer. He was 78.
Many called Weir the true heart and soul of the band—the straight man who kept the Dead going through thick and thin for decades. And even after Jerry Garcia passed away in 1995, Weir kept the Dead’s music alive through other projects like RatDog, Further, and his latest project, Dead & Co.
Bob Weir's Rock Legacy is Incredible
Weir’s influence on rock ’n’ roll is impossible to quantify. From writing some of the most iconic Dead songs to his wonderful personality, Weir will always have a rightful place in the pantheon of rock gods.
Fortunately for Weir fans in Maine, his talent was on display here quite often. Whether it was with the Dead or one of his other projects, Weir was never one to skip out on playing a show in the Pine Tree State.
