With craft breweries located all over Maine, the state is a great place for beer lovers. This includes Greater Bangor.

Mason's Brewing Company in Brewer, Maine

Mason's has a popular brewery and restaurant located along the Penobscot River on Hardy St. in Brewer.

The company also has a location in Machias and a distillery in Bangor.

One of their popular beers is Hipster Apocalypse, "A hazy and juicy showcase for the Idaho-7 hop varietal. Dank and piney with strong tangerine characteristics."

Geaghan's Pub & Brewery in Bangor, Maine

Geaghan's is located along Main St. in Bangor.

Geaghan's was opened by John and Arline Geaghan in 1975 under the name John Geaghan's Roundhouse Restaurant.

It expanded to include brewing operations in 2011.

Some of their more popular brews include Smiling Irish Bastard, an American pale ale.

2 Feet Brewing Co. in Bangor, Maine

This family-run brewpub is located in downtown Bangor on Columbia Street.

Their beers are created by Cory Ricker, while his wife Nit-Noi makes the pub fare, and their son, Zak, manages the pub.

The company says its signature beer is Barn Burner, "a dark Saison seasoned with roasted jalapeños and ghost pepper."

Orono Brewing in Orono, Maine

Orono Brewing Company opened its doors on New Year's Eve 2014.

The company's flagship location is in Orono, and they also have a location in Bangor.

One of their most popular beers is Tubular IPA.

It's "Tropical and juicy," according to Orono Brewing's website. "Triple dry-hopped with Citra, El Dorado, Topaz, and Galaxy. Keeping Maine rad one can at a time!"

Bangor Beer Co. in Bangor, Maine

Bangor Beer Company opened in October 2017.

They're located next to the mall on Bangor Mall Blvd.

One of their more popular brews is their Catchphrase IPA. The company says the brew is "Sessionable but packs a gargantuan punch of juicy hop flavor and aroma without the bitterness of its west coast cousin."
