
Man Charged with Attacking Police & K-9 with Bear-Spray in Maine
A 45-year-old man was arrested Wednesday and charged with assault after bear-spraying a man, a police officer and K-9 in Oxford.
Man Attacked in Driveway with Bear-Spray
Matthew Martin was charged with randomly spraying a man in his driveway on King Street. Police said the two men did not know each other.
“Visibly Intoxicated"
Martin then fled the scene. He was tracked down a short time after with a K-9 team. Police said Martin was "visibly intoxicated.”
Suspect Showed Police Bear-Spray
When officers approached him, Martin lifted his shirt and showed a can of bear-spray.
Officers and K-9 Sprayed
Martin then sprayed the officers in the face and sprayed the K-9 during a struggle to arrest him, said WGME News.
Multiple Charges
He was apprehended and charged with Assault, Assault on Law Enforcement, Criminal Trespassing, Refusing to Submit to Arrest, Disorderly Conduct, Unlawful Interference with a Law Enforcement Dog and Criminal Use of Disabling Chemicals.
