VH1's Dear Mama special was taped this week and some tear-jerking sneak peeks have hit the internet as some of our favorite celebrities honored their mothers for Mother's Day.

Queen Latifah and her mother Rita Owens displayed their appreciation for one another in a "mushy" video prior to Latifah covering one of her mom's favorite songs on the VH1 stage. The multi-talented superstar credited her mother for all of her success in everything she's ever accomplished.

"Anything that you have come to know me as, all of that other stuff you see on tv and on movies, does not exist without this woman right here," Latifah said lovingly.

Owens was diagnosed with Scleroderma in 2013. She and her daughter explained that the challenges have been hard but they are making it through the difficult times.

“Everyday is a gift,” Owens said. “Life is for the living–even when it’s difficult! We both know I believe in miracles. We’ll be talking about this in 10 years and remembering how scared we were and we came through yet another crisis.”

Alicia Keys also delivers a heartfelt tribute to her mom, Terria Joseph, before performing a beautiful rendition of "If I Ain't Got You" in Joseph's honor.

"She found me a piano teacher, and she found the money to pay for it, and she found even a piano, because who can fit a piano in a one bedroom apartment?" the Grammy award winning singer asked. "Who would I be?"

VH1's Dear Mama airs Sunday, May 8, at 9 p.m. ET on VH1. Check out some more video footage and an IG pic from the taping below.
