A Cold and Snowy November in Northern Maine

The first half of November in northern Maine has been the coldest and snowiest in years, according to the National Weather Service.

Through November 16th, the average temperature at Caribou this month of 32.7 degrees is 1.8 degrees below normal. To date, it has been the coldest start to November since 2004.

A total of 15.9 inches of snow has been observed so far this month, which is nearly 12 inches above normal. The weather service says it has been the snowiest start to the month of November since 1963.

Last year, Caribou measured 4 inches of snow in November.
