How Many of These 9 New Hampshire Foods Have You Eaten?
One of the things that I loved about growing up in NH was the food. I didn't know it at the time, but many of the dishes were specific to the 603.
Foods like Lake Trout, (we love to fish) Boiled Dinners because of the big Irish population and Poutine for the number of Canadians in NH too, were common dinner choices in my childhood NH home.

Wild Game Meat is Big in NH
Hunting season for bears is big in New Hampshire. The fish and game department, at one point, had a lottery to get a license to hunt bears. The rules are changing all the time based on population, etc., but you can still hunt and eat Black bears here.
Boiled Dinners in NH are Common
Growing up, I remember my Mother making a boiled dinner probably at LEAST once a month. Nowadays, it's more of a St. Patrick's Day thing, but we had it all the time.
It was common in my house because my Mother had a bunch of kids. Not surprising for an Irish family. It was easy to throw in a bunch of vegetables in a pot, with some sort of meat and let 'er rip.
The meat changed from time to time. My Mother used to throw in kielbasa because corned beef was expensive. She had a lot of mouths to feed.

Maple Syrup in NH is the Best
I am friends with the President of the NH Maple Producers Association, Andrew Chisholm and he told me that New Hampshire doesn't "blend" their maple syrup. Some states do and we don't judge you for that, Vermont, but in NH, if it says it comes from a particular tree farm, you can take that to the bank.
Fluffernutters, although we loved them too, are not on the list because that's a Massachusetts food, not NH.
Check out the other New Hampshire foods below. In my opinion, you have to have had all of them to call yourself a resident of the "Live Free or Die" state.
