Sometimes you want to do more than just slide up to the bar and chat. If you want to enjoy your adult beverages with something fun to do, these southern Maine restaurants and bars provide plenty of activities for your sipping enjoyment. From bowling, to billiards, to bocce, and pinball, these bars will keep you well fed, hydrated, and entertained.

Arcadia National Bar

24 Preble Street, Portland

This is a grungy, unassuming bar full of amazing old school arcade games (Windjammers! NBA Jam!), great pinball machines, board games, and plenty of alcohol.  This place gets a bit - though not overwhelmingly - packed during weekends, though the people are chill and the ambiance is definitely friendly.  Alcohol is cheap, which definitely helps.

Bayside Bowl

58 Alder Street, Portland

Taking bowling to a whole new level! Bayside isn't just your traditional bowling alley, they are set up to cater to bowlers who are looking to have a more social bowling experience with their great full service bar and waiters to make sure you don't have to leave the game. They typically have solid choices on draft too! Their lanes are modern and everything is updated and clean. In the bar area, they also have a stage set up for live music and serve a decent menu of nicer bar foods.

Old Port Tavern Billiards

368 Fore Street, Portland

You could probably head up here any night of the week and get a table right away. Very nice atmosphere, fantastic windows looking out at the old port, jukebox, free darts, a flat $6 an hour for a table (not $ per person like some crapbag places), average drink prices, tv's playing sports and the bar staff is always nice.

33 Elmwood

33 Elmwood Avenue, Westbrook

I just left what should be the "Next Big Thing" around Portland.  Whoever created this space did it right.  "What is 33 Elmwood?" you may be asking yourself... Well it is everything you want it to be and more. Candlepin bowling, bocce (aka lawn bowling), corn hole, local drafts, fresh food, and PHENOMENAL service is the name of their game.

Smitty's Cinemas

Windham, Biddeford, Sanford, and More

Have you been reading my diary, Smitty's Cinemas? I've always said that I'd go to the movies more often if the movies had a bar and a full restaurant. Smitty's answers the call at each of their many locations.
