A 23-year-old man was arrested after shots were fired and a police standoff in Rockland Friday afternoon.

Multiple Gunshots Fired from Inside the House

Police said 23-year-old Samuel Ward from Rockland fired multiple gunshots from inside a residence at 10 Carroll’s Lane around 1 pm. He had several warrants.

Suspect Got on the Roof of the House

Ward then got on the roof of the house. Police tried to talk with him but were unsuccessful. A perimeter was set up and the neighborhood was being evacuated.

Man Arrested after Grabbing Rifle to Flee

Ward was taken into custody around 3 pm after he tried to take a rifle and leave the house, said WGME News.

Guns and Drugs in the House

More guns and drugs were found in the home. No injuries were reported.
