Today marks the start of the 2015 moose hunting season in New Brunswick and thousands of hunters are taking to the woods this week as the province's Moose Hunting season gets underway and runs through Saturday.

Just over 4,600 licenses were issued this year. Last year, hunters bagged nearly 3,700 moose.

For the second year in a row, it will be a five-day hunting season. The provincial government is studying the possibility of returning to a three-day season in time for next year's hunt.
