Update: Police Identify Suspect in Nackawic Town Hall Fire

A 56-year-old Nackawic man has been charged for impaired driving after his pickup truck crashed into the Nackawic Fire Hall, triggering a destructive fire.

The RCMP says that Edwin Samuel Bradley was charged in court on Tuesday with impaired driving, refusal to provide a breath sample and breaching his conditions. He is being held in custody until Thursday when he is scheduled to appear in Woodstock Court for a show cause hearing.

The charges stem from an investigation into a crash Monday morning where Bradley allegedly drove his vehicle into the Nackawic Fire Hall.  Several fire trucks were damaged or destroyed in the ensuing fire and there was significant damage to the building, which also houses the town offices.

Fire departments from neighboring communities responded to bring the fire under control. No one was injured.
