Maine State Police – Troop F’s weekly incident report…

3/31 - Troopers Saucier and Casavant arrested a 43 year old Houlton man for violation of bail at a residence in Amity after a tip he was there in violation of his conditions of release.

4/01 – Tr. Hafford responded to New Canada for an unattended death. A 9-1-1 caller reported his roommate was having a medical episode and needed an ambulance. When the ambulance arrived they found the 62 year old man was deceased. No foul play is suspected.

4/2 - Tr. Casavant charged a 29 year old Monticello man for operating an unregistered motor vehicle while he was set up looking for another intentional violator.

4/02 - Tr. Levesque assisted ASO with an armed robbery in Mars Hill. Suspect was located and arrested after short investigation. Sgt. Fuller also responded with K-9 Gleni but suspect was located before track was completed.

4/03 - Tr. Whalen assisted CPD with searching a house in Caribou on a bail check. Suspect had hidden in a crawl space under the house and was located short time later. Sgt. Fuller also assisted with his K-9 Gleni.

4/05 – Tr. Saucier responded to a personal injury crash in Silver Ridge. Roads were covered with snow and slush and a driver lost control, crossing into the on-coming lane striking another vehicle head-on. Patten Ambulance and ACSO assisted at the scene. None of the injuries were considered life-threatening.

4/05 - Retired Trooper Dan Deschaine called in a traffic complaint on Route 1 in Westfield. He reported a vehicle that was all over the road. Tr. Michaud located the vehicle and pulled it over in Mars Hill. When Tr. Michaud approached the vehicle, the operator had his laptop open and powered on. He had it on the passenger seat, and was checking his email. The operator admitted to working on his email as he was driving down the roadway. He was ticketed for using his laptop while driving. This was Tr. Michaud’s second distracted driver of the week. In his first encounter Tr. Michaud pulled over a vehicle on Route 1 in Caribou for weaving over the fog and center lines. The operator had been working on his smartphone and was attempting to open up a map application on the electronic device. He was ticketed for failing to control his motor vehicl

Troop F of the Maine State Police is responsible for Aroostook County and the extreme northern sections of Somerset, Piscataquis and Penobscot counties. In addition, the Troop patrols Interstate 95 from Sherman to the Canadian border in Houlton.
