While Star Wars: The Last Jedi has been dominating the conversation, Rian Johnson’s film wasn’t the only movie featured in next week’s issue of Entertainment Weekly. Their annual Fall Movie Preview includes updates and photos from a handful of upcoming releases, including Stephen King’s It, arguably the most highly anticipated movie of the fall. We’ve already seen Mark Hamill fight people with a lightsaber, but a bunch of kids running around the Northeast in the 1980s fighting a supernatural monster? Why, we haven’t seen that since Stranger Things came out! And that was a whole year ago!

The corner of Hollywood Boulevard and Vine Street is a Los Angeles icon, once the heart of the city’s booming film production and now the nexus of the world-renowned Hollywood Walk of Fame. Usually, the most frightening thing a person will experience at the intersection is an encounter with improv comics attempting to strong-arm you into attending their latest show, but a new horror will soon dawn in the area. Locals now have bigger things to worry about than spending the day sad after accidentally overhearing an actor speaking to their agent on the phone.

If you head to your local theater next week to check out Annabelle: Creation, you’ll be treated to an extra serving — a small appetizer or horrors d’ouevres (sorry), if you will — of phobia-inducing terror. A special four-minute sneak peek of the new adaptation of Stephen King’s IT is reportedly set to screen before the Annabelle prequel, just in case you needed a side of creepy clown with your order of creepy doll.

Something fishy is going on with the two Stephen King movies coming out this year. At least, their runtimes aren’t exactly what you’d expect. It was recently revealed that The Dark Tower clocks in at a lean 95 minutes long, and now we’re hearing that Andres Muschietti’s It is considerably longer than two hours: approximately 135 minutes.

Wardrobe preference notwithstanding, Pennywise is still pretty darn terrifying, especially if you’re already scared of clowns — in which case, you might want to avoid the new trailer for IT.

With one of the most-viewed trailers of all time, it appears that Andres Muschietti’s adaptation of Stephen King’s It is set to be the rare crossover hit in the horror genre. Fans who haven’t even read one of King’s books are excited to see a group of lovable losers take on Derry’s most infamous - and inhuman - killer. Those familiar with the original novel and television miniseries are also curious: how will Muschietti’s film work without the dual storytelling between past and present? What does It look like when filtered through a modern sensibility?

It’s a big day for all kinds of new images and details from several highly-anticipated films, and you have Comic-Con to thank for most of it — well, not it as in It, the upcoming adaptation of Stephen King’s classic horror novel, which is set to hit theaters in September. As we inch closer to the release date, four new images have debuted online, giving us another look at the film’s young ensemble cast as they head into the heart of evil, aka Pennywise’s lair.

Pennywise is coming to Castle Rock … sort of. Rather than an official It crossover just yet, the new Stephen King-J.J. Abrams anthology series has added a familiar face to the cast, that of Bill Skarsgard (thankfully without the clown makeup).
