St. Agatha Man Injured in Early Morning Crash
A 20-year-old man was injured early Sunday morning when the pickup he was driving went off Main Street in St. Agatha and struck a utility pole and several trees.
Trooper Matt Curtin of the Maine State Police responded to the crash shortly after 5 a.m. The investigation showed 20-year-old Chance Gervais of St. Agatha was traveling south in his 2012 Dodge pickup truck when he fell asleep. State Police say the truck left the road and collided with a telephone pole and multiple trees before coming to a stop in the wooded embankment.
Traffic was redirected due to wires from the utility pole blocking the roadway. Gervais was transported by ambulance to Northern Maine Medical Center in Fort Kent where he was treated for what police called “non-life-threatening injuries.”
The pickup truck was a total loss and had to be towed from the scene.
Trooper Curtin was assisted by the Saint Agatha Fire Department and Madawaska Ambulance Services. Emera Maine also responded to repair the utility pole and restore power to homes in the immediate area.
