The North Regional Championships were held at Hampden Academy on Wednesday afternoon and evening with a trio of teams moving on to the State Championships later this week.

Skowhegan 3-2 Messalonskee - Class A North Final

The Skowhegan Indians won yet another regional crown with a 3-2 victory over Messalonskee.  Skowhegan started off the scoring early on in the opening minutes of the contest before Messalonskee would score the equalizer in a few minutes after.  The Indians would go up for good with a pair of goals by Maliea Kelso, one right before the halftime break.  The Eagles scored late in the contest and threatened to tie the game up with a penalty corner in the waning minutes before the clock expired.  The Indians will face Massabesic in the State Championship after the Mustangs beat Marshwood 2-1.

Maine Central Institute 3-0 Winthrop - Class C North Final

The MCI Huskies held serve as the top seed in Class C North over #3 Winthrop by a score of 3-0.  MCI scored twice in the first half with goals from Addie Williams and Keely Manzo, before Williams would notch her second goal of the game in the second half.  MCI will play Oak Hill in the State Finals after they beat St Dom's by a score of 3-2 in overtime during the South Region championship.

Belfast 2-0 Lawrence - Class B North Final

The contest between Belfast and Lawrence was scoreless until the second half when the Lions scored twice within 90 seconds of each goal.  Cassie Jackson scored at the 10:55 mark in the second, followed by one by Anna Baiungo.  Belfast will face York in the championship game in Class B after they beat Yarmouth 2-1 in the South Region.

*- Field Hockey State Championships will take place on Saturday afternoon in Bath.
