A 53-year-old woman died in a crash on the Maine Turnpike Friday morning and three others were injured, one seriously, after a multi-vehicle rollover crash in Wells.

Driver Struck Vehicles

The Maine State Police said “23-year-old Oguzhan Cildir from Brighton, Massachusetts struck a silver Toyota Sienna minivan and a white Toyota Tacoma pickup.” Cildir was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Woman Died and Man Seriously Injured

Gloria Casci died at the scene of the crash around 8:41 am. She was driving the Tacoma that rolled over several times. Her passenger, 60-year-old Vincent Cascio of Albion, had serious injuries and was flown to Maine Medical Center by LifeFlight.

Vehicle Rolled Over Several Times

The driver of the Sienna, 51-year-old Troy Perrault of Old Orchard Beach, had minor injuries.

Fourth Vehicle Involved

A fourth vehicle, a gray Chevy Impala, could not avoid the crash. The driver was not injured.

Turnpike Shut Down

The Turnpike was shut down for an extended period of time in the southbound lanes. The crash is under investigation.
