When you watch this, think to yourself - Green Day is huge now. Back then, the band was young and new - and they were tight. This video shows the promise of what's to come. Check it out.

The perfect Before They Were Famous video. It's the contrast of Green Day playing at a high school where most people aren't paying attention... and then the band goes on to sell out stadiums and become one of the biggest bands in the world.

Green Day is known for starting out in Berkeley, CA at the Gillman Street Club - where a lot of punk bands played and wrote together. They formed a lot earlier in 1986 and evolved together to put their first album out.

The video's from 1990 and the trio play, "Who Wrote Holland Caulfield" - a song that appears on their first record, Kerplunk in 1992.

Tre Cool had just joined Green Day around this time after Green Day's first drummer left.

1994 was the breakout year for Green Day. Dookie was released and a string of hit records followed - Insomniac and Nimrod - in that order were all multi-platinum albums.

The rest is history.
