Jerry Bowmaster, who recovered the wreck on Thursday told the CBC that the Dodge Charger ended up on its roof in a brook at the bottom of the ravine, crumpled beyond recognition.

The injured man apparently pulled himself from the wreckage and was able to slowly crawl up the embankment in the dark.

Ken Harvey, deputy chief of the Upper Kingsclear Volunteer Fire Department told CIHI-FM in Fredericton that the man eventually caught the attention of a passing motorist.  A transport truck driver spotted the man lying in the median hours after the crash is thought to have occurred.

The victim was taken to hospital. There’s no word on the man's condition.
