Houlton Farms Dairy Truck, Pickup Collide in Smyrna Accident
Two people were lucky to escape unharmed from a crash involving a milk truck and a pickup on a snow-covered road in Smyrna.
According to Sheriff Darrell Crandall, Sheriff’s Deputies were called to a two-vehicle collision on the Smyrna Center Road on Monday morning.
Crandall says 47-year-old Leonard Keyes of Smyrna was traveling west in near zero visibility when he encountered a snow drift. Coming in the opposite direction, at the same time, was 55-year-old James Lincoln of Houlton. Lincoln was driving a Houlton Farms Dairy truck. The driver’s side of Keyes’ 2008 Ford F-150 collided with the side of the Houlton Farms Dairy Truck.
Luckily, no one was injured. There was about $2,000 damage to Keyes’ vehicle and about $10,000 to the milk truck.
All of those involved were wearing seat-belts.
Deputy Sheriff Vance Palmer is investigating the crash.
