Woodland Man Arrested for Dropping Explosives on Victims in Maine
A 37-year-old man from Woodland was arrested after using a drone to drop improvised explosive devices on victims and planting explosives.
Woodland Man Arrested for Using Explosives on Victims
Maine State Police arrested Joshua Brydon of Woodland on a warrant from the State Fire Marshal.
Facing Multiple Charges
Brydon is charged with 5 counts of Arson, 1 count of Attempted Arson, 6 counts of Criminal Use of Explosives, 2 counts of Stalking and 1 count of Endangering the Welfare of a Child.
IEDs Targeted Several Victims in Woodland
The 18-month investigation revealed Brydon used “improvised explosive devices, and improvised incendiary devices being used to target multiple victims within the town of Woodland,” said police.
Explosive Devices Dropped by Drones and Planted by Hand
“Several of the devices were dropped by UAS (drone), and others were placed or thrown by hand,” said Shannon Moss, Public Information Officer, Maine Department of Public Safety.
Law Enforcement Involved in Case
The investigation included Maine State Police, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco Firearms and Explosives and Homeland Security Investigations.
Transported to County Jail
Brydon was taken to the Aroostook County Jail in Houlton.
