Woman Tries To Rob Edmundston, N.B. Pharmacy With Fake Gun
Police in Edmundston say a Québec woman is facing charges following an attempted armed robbery at a local pharmacy.
Officers were called to the Shoppers Drug Mart on Hébert Boulevard shortly before 6 p.m. Wednesday. The Edmundston Police Force says a woman entered the pharmacy, showed a gun and demanded prescription medication.
An employee reportedly knocked the woman to the floor and held her until police arrived. The gun turned out to be a replica firearm.
Police say 32-year-old Véronic Dion of Rivière-du-Loup was taken into custody. Dion appeared in Edmundston Provincial court on Thursday and was charged with attempted theft while using an imitation weapon, and wearing a disguise with intent to commit a crime.
The woman was remanded into custody and is due back in court on June 1.
