Viola Davis won the Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actress in a Motion Picture Drama at the 2017 Golden Globe Awards on Sunday night (January 8).

This is Davis's first Golden Globe win. The other nominees include Naomie Harris for Moonlight, Nicole Kidman for Lion, Octavia Spencer for Hidden Figures and Michelle Williams for Manchester By the Sea.

Hosted by Jimmy Fallon, the 74th annual Golden Globe Awards ceremony takes place at the Beverly Hilton hotel on Sunday, January 8, broadcast live on NBC beginning at 8 PM EST. The 2017 Golden Globes nominees were announced on December 12, with actress Meryl Streep selected as the honoree of the year’s Cecil B. DeMille Lifetime Achievement Award.
