Nineteen-year-old Kyle Edmund Scott, formerly of Harvey Station, appeared in court Monday morning to have the date set for his second-degree murder trial.

Ten days have been set aside to hear the case in the Court of Queen's Bench in Woodstock.

Scott is charged with killing 82-year-old Sarah Kennedy in her home on Route 555 in Richmond Corner, New Brunswick. The RCMP was called to Kennedy’s home on the morning of October 5 after a family member discovered her body inside the house.

Scott was arrested that night driving Kennedy's vehicle, which police say had been stolen from the woman's home.

A pre-trial conference is set for April 7 and a hearing  to determine the admissibility of evidence is scheduled for June 23 and 24. Scott remains in custody.
