The two-day bicycle tour not only raises funds to support and expand Camp Adventure, a Maine-based summer camp for children with Type 1 Diabetes, but also spreads awareness of living a healthy lifestyle while also showcasing the beauty of Aroostook County.

Riders make base camp at the University of Maine at Presque Isle, two nights camping/dorm accommodations and all meals are provided for riders from Friday evening's wine and cheese reception through the 'All-American Bar-B-Q' on Sunday.

The ride is said to form a four-leaf clover through the County, each day split into two rides with rest areas, first aid, and mechanical services on hand.

This year, riders will welcome two special guests, Kris Freeman, US Olympic cross country skier, and spokesperson for athletes with diabetes - along with Col. Barbara Springer, national director of Project Hero.

In past years the ride has attracted around 75 to 90 riders. This year the group expects to double those numbers.

The majority of event expenses is covered by sponsors, leaving the $200 per person pledges/donations dedicated to the cause - with an additional $50 for registration.
