Now, writer-star Mark Gatiss shares a new look at the likely final chapter, as Sherlock, his brother and Watson appear to have started their band with a dramatic album cover.

Sherlock production has been curiously quiet since the initial announcement last month, with nary a sighting of Benedict Cumberbatch or Martin Freeman, though it seems the game is finally once again afoot. Boy, that Benedict Cumberbatch is a busy bee. Just days after making the streets of NYC a little Strange-r, the Sherlock star is back abroad, kicking off production on the fourth season of the detective’s modern adventures. That said, why do we get the feeling Season 4 might be Sherlock and Watson’s final case?

You know what manga fans love, in my anecdotal experience? Homoeroticism. You know who else loves homoeroticism? Sherlock fans. So it was only a matter of time until someone realized that the key to cashing in on all those fans at once could only be a Sherlock manga. Today at the the ComicsPro retailers summit in Portland, Oregon, Titan Comics announced that it will publish an English-language translation of a manga adaptation of the Sherlock story A Study In Pink in June. This will mark the first time time the Japanese series has been made available in English and officially sold in the United States and United Kingdom.

Nice as it was to have Sherlock reintroduce us to Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman’s dynamic in a classic era, the stealth prequel couldn’t help whet appetites for Moriarty’s apparent return in Season 4. Sadly, we’ll have to wait longer than ever to catch up with Sherlock and Watson in the modern day, as PBS says Season 4 is at least a year out.
