The American Council of the Blind and The Iris Network will hold White Cane Walks throughout the state of Maine on October 19th. One walk will be held in Aroostook County at 10:00am on October 19th; starting at the parking lot next to Wilder's Jewelry Store in Presque Isle.

Authorities report that a 4-year-old boy in Maine was recently the victim of a tragic lawnmower accident, which resulted in him having his right leg amputated above the knee. According to reports, Jordon Talbot was riding in a trailer attached to his father’s riding lawnmower when he fell out and was run over by the machine - consequently being severely cut by the blades.
