It was previewed by a small audience at the Waterville Opera House this past summer and this weekend marks the movie's opening weekend for all audiences.
Cook grew up in Waterville, and like many Maine 4th graders, read 'Lost On A Mountain In Maine' in class. He also met Fendler when the author visited his school.
The mission to take the beloved Maine tale of how 12-year-old Donn Fendler survived 9 days alone in the wilderness, to the big screen is finally coming to fruition.
