I thought it might be fun... and maybe a bit painful to take time travel back in the day to see just how much more us Mainers are forking over for essentials these days. Spoiler alert: It’s way more than we’d like.

Americans have accumulated hundreds of billions of dollars in personal loan debt, especially over the last few years with the inflation crisis, and it appears that Mainers are feeling the hit more than most.

Some things are necessities and you have to buy it - like gas. But you have to cut back somewhere.
