Officials are warning that the fire danger is high across most of Maine, with dry conditions and high winds elevating the risk of wildfires.

A Red Flag Warning is in effect Monday afternoon and evening for high fire danger across northern and eastern Maine.

With no measurable rain for the first half of July, and temperatures soaring to record highs, the fire danger has been steadily rising.  The New Brunswick Department of Natural Resources today has placed the entire province under a no-burn order.
