
UPDATED: State Police Investigating Suspicious Death in Southern Aroostook as a Homicide
State Police detectives are in the Southern Aroostook community of Sherman today investigating a death they've classified as a homicide.
UPDATE: State Police are now investigating the death of a man found dead over the weekend in Sherman as a homicide - after the State Medical Examiner’s Office conducted an autopsy today on the body of 31-year-old, Douglas Morin, of Oakfield.
The cause of death is not being released, but the medical examiner’s office determined the death to be a homicide. A team of detectives have been working on the case since they were called to the scene Sunday morning on the Pd Road in Sherman.
ORIGINAL STORY: Police say a body was found inside a vehicle on the Lower PD Road near Macwahoc Lake around 10:30 a.m. Sunday. So far, the name of the deceased hasn't been released, and police aren't commenting on a cause of death.
The body has been taken to the State Medical Examiner's Office for an autopsy, according to a news release from the Maine Department of Public Safety.
