Sox Again To Tigers & Sickness

Just how bad is the flu epedemic on the Boston Red Sox team? Even NESN play-by-play man Dave O'Brien had to leave the broadcast booth during the 4-1 in Detroit Saturday afternoon.

As the Sox dropped a second straight game to the Tigers, the flu sickness seems to be getting worse.

Mookie Betts and Hanley Rameriz were out of the lineup again. Pitcher Joe Kelly stayed at the hotel with sickness. Even Sox skipper John Farrell wasn't feeling good. Keep in mind, Xander Bogaerts is not with the team because of a family death.

Eduardo Rodriguez started the game and struggled to throw strikes. He lasted five innings, giving up two home runs, walked three and allowed 4 total runs.

Meanwhile, the Sox offense didn't do much. Just six hits.

NESN's Tom Caron finished up the play-by-play duties from back in Boston watching the monitor.

The Sox fall to 2-2 as the series continues in Detroit Sunday afternoon.
