Soldier from Houlton Dies in Afghanistan

Army Sgt. 1st Class Aaron Henderson from Houlton was injured on September 12 in Afghanistan and died from his wounds at the hospital at Bagram Air Field.

U.S. Rep. Mike Michaud said Henderson was part of the Special Force serving in 2nd Battalion. The young soldier still has family members who live in Houlton. No word yet on when his body will be return for a burial.

Michaud told the Associated Press that the tragic death of the soldier is a reminder ‘of the dangerous conditions so many deployed Americans continue to operate under overseas.’
