Can you believe it’s been almost 15 years since Goldie Hawn last appeared in a live-action movie? The last time we were treated to a Goldie Hawn performance, Arnold Schwarzenegger was still an actor, not an actor-turned-politician-turned-actor. The Pirates of the Caribbean franchise had yet to be launched. Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man will in the midst of setting box office records for superhero movies. Resident Evil was expected to kick of a new wave of successful video game adaptations.

In short, it’s been a long, long time since we got to enjoy a Goldie Hawn performance in a broad action comedy, but thanks to Amy Schumer, that streak is finally over. The first red band trailer for Snatched promised a blend of both actresses’ comedic skills: Hawn with her fish-out-of-water approach to traveling abroad, and Schumer with her acerbic take downs of male comedy and female stereotypes. The new green band trailer is a kinder, gentler version of the above, but still promises two of the funniest actresses of the last thirty years running through the paces together. And with an expected Mother’s Day release date, Snatched should also be a nice change of pace for those mother-daughter combinations tired of being baited with schmaltzy movies like Garry Marsall’s Mother’s Day.

Here’s a short — and very unofficial — synopsis of Snatched, courtesy of the film’s IMDb page:

When her boyfriend dumps Emily, a spontaneous woman in her 30s, she persuades her ultra-cautious mom to accompany her on a vacation to Ecuador. At Emily’s insistence, the pair seek out adventure, but suddenly find themselves kidnapped. When these two very different women are trapped on this wild journey, their bond as mother and daughter is tested and strengthened while they attempt to navigate the jungle and escape.

Snatched hits theaters on May 12, 2017.
