Shawn Mendes scores 2-2 with his second smash single this week!

As promised, the 19-year-old crooner made well on his commitments with the delivery of another brand-new song called "Lost in Japan," a soulful, foot-tapping boogie that debuted just at the stroke of midnight on Friday, March 23.

Listen to "Lost in Japan," below.

"Do you got plans tonight? / I'm a couple hundred miles from Japan / And I was thinking I could fly to your hotel tonight," Mendes trills over a psychedelic beat before swinging into a soft riff that sounds just as luscious as the singer's sunset request.

"Lost in Japan" arrives after Mendes' first number, a rock-heavy track called "In My Blood," which made its premiere on Thursday (March 22). Hours after its release, the artist also revealed the name of his follow-up effort on Twitter.

"#LostinJapan Midnight Tonight," he tweeted along with to the artwork for the serenade.

Since February, Mendes has been keeping fans abreast of the developments concerning his new music but refrained from revealing any definitive dates. As earlier reported, however, a since-deleted tweet seemed to indicate something extraordinary would arrive mid-March.

Mendes wouldn't confirm the gossip until Monday (March 19) when the "Treat You Better" musician vouched he would be treating his Shawn Mendes Army to two never-before-heard records from his upcoming album, the unofficially-named SM3.
